JoAnna (Markle) Turner Kizziar peacefully passed away in her sleep at the Lake View hospital in Stillwater, Minnesota on November 28, 2020 at the age of 91.  She is finally reunited with those who passed before her including her beloved son, Steve Turner. We can imagine that Steve greeted her with a smile and saying something like, “Well, mom… it is about time!” JoAnna went by many names given to her by her children and grandchildren.  Whether it was Granny Jo, MeMa, Mom or Mommie, we all loved her and knew she loved us all unconditionally.  She is survived by her children, Michael Turner, Debi VanNostrand, Robyne Rohde, Jackie Morris, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.  Robyne and her family was mom’s constant caregivers in Robyne’s home when mom could not care for herself.  Mom often commented on how much it meant to her to have her children take such great care of her.  She once said, “I never knew unconditional love until I gave birth to my children.”  Mom was a fighter all her life and would take on anyone or anything to protect her children.  She was funny and loved to laugh.  She was the anchor in the family and the one who never saw anything but the absolute best in each of us.  She will be in our hearts forever and missed more than we can express in words. Mom will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery in Oklahoma City on December 9 at 10:00 AM. A celebration of Mom’s life will be held in Oklahoma City, summer of 2021.
