Etta Lorene Dixon formerly of Quapaw, Oklahoma passed from this life Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. She was 88.
Lorene was born October 30, 1931 in Cushing, Oklahoma to Charlie and May (Loux) Morgan. She had lived all her life in the Picher, Quapaw and Commerce area. Lorene graduated from Picher High School in 1950. She was a homemaker.
Lorene was preceded in death by her husband William “Bill” Dixon April 13, 2016, her parents and 3 brothers LaDell “Fuzzy” Morgan, Charlie “Junior” Morgan and Homer “Tincy” Morgan.
Survivors include one son Anthony “Tony” Dixon and wife Janie of Commerce, Oklahoma, one daughter Lori Cook and husband Robert of Quapaw, Oklahoma, one brother Billy Morgan and wife Bobbie of Miami, Oklahoma, grandchildren Tyson and Keisha Lawson, Joshua and Kaitlyn Cook, Sarah Cook, Darryl Martin, Nate and Maree Dally, Tyler Dixon and Chris and Melissa Stebbins and 13 great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 8, 2020 at Ottawa Indian Cemetery, east of Miami, Oklahoma. Rev. Ray Clonts will officiate. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Lorene will lie in state Sunday, June 7 from 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. for family and friends to pay their respects and sign the register book at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Miami, Oklahoma.
