MIAMI — Two persons were killed in a collision at approximately 12:43 a.m. Sunday, April 12 at approximately mile marker 322, 9 miles east of Miami on the Will Rogers Turnpike.
Christopher Bowen, 46, Miami, and Waylon Humphrey, 32, Rolla, Missouri, were pronounced dead at the scene from massive injuries, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Bowen was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado, but the vehicle Humphrey was driving was unknown because the vehicle was completely burned, the report said.
The cause of the accident is under investigation, the OHP report said.
The accident was investigated by Trooper Jason McCarthy of the Will Rogers Turnpike County Detachment, assisted by Lt. George Lambert of the Will Rogers Turnpike Detachment and Trooper Marcus Murphy of the Craig County Detachment of Troop L. They were also assisted by members of Quapaw Nation Fire/EMS and Miami EMS.
