Delmar Dale Pugh passed from this life Wednesday, April 17, 2019 in Overland Park, Kansas. He was 89.
Delmar was born October 1, 1929 to Eslie and Viola (Williams) Pugh. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years from 1950 to 1954 during the Korean War on three aircraft carriers; The Antietam, The Shangra- La and the Yorktown. Delmar had worked for B.F. Goodrich in Miami, Oklahoma for 29 years, he retired when the plant closed in 1986. He began working again at Oklahoma Leather in Miami where he worked for five years.
Delmar was a member of the Southern Hill Baptist Church in Miami, Oklahoma where he served as a deacon and brotherhood director. He was also a member of the V.F.W. and American Legion in Miami. He was currently attending Long Branch Baptist Church in Galatia, Illinois.
Delmar loved to hunt and fish, attend church and worship God and loved the St. Louis Cardinals.
Delmar married Mary Louise (Harry) Pugh July 20, 1956 and she preceded him in death May 21, 2017. He was also preceded in death by his parents, his son Charles Pugh and grandson Danny Pugh
Survivors include his son Bradley Keith Pugh and wife Kristy of Broughton, Illinois, his daughter Julie Louise Mustain and husband Rex of Overland Park, Kansas, six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, April 22, 2019 at the Southern Hills Baptist Church in Miami, Oklahoma. Mike Lillie will officiate. Interment will be in Nashville Cemetery in Barton County, Missouri. Rex Mustain, Ryan Mustain, Chris Pugh, Mike Lillie, Hunter Walton and Clayton Pugh will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday prior to the service at the Southern Hills Baptist Church in Miami, Oklahoma.
