Harvey “Ed” Edmond Selle of Commerce, Okla. passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at his home. He was 90.
Ed was born April 4, 1928 in Picher, Okla. to Mance and Anna (Chambers) Selle. He had lived in Commerce for 12 years moving from Picher, Okla. Ed was a lead & zinc Miner and later was an operating engineer for Fenix and Scission of Tulsa, Okla. He was a longtime member of the Picher Church of the Nazarene and later transferred to New Life Church of the Nazarene in Miami. He was also a member of the Operating Engineers Union No. 150 for over 50 years.
Ed was preceded in death by a son Curtis Selle in 2004, his parents, one brother Robert Selle and two sisters Eleanor Peace and Jody Woods.
Ed married Marcella (Stanley) Selle August 31, 1946 and she survives of the home. Additional survivors include his daughter Carol McGowen and husband Dick of Miami, Okla., three granddaughters Dana Kilburne and husband Jerry of Knoxville, Tenn., Kim Jones and husband Steve of Tulsa, Okla. and Summer Bunn and husband Andy of Miami, Okla., six great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson.
Funeral services will be Monday, February 18, 2019 at 2 p.m. at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Commerce, Okla. Rev. Casey Hollingsworth will officiate. Private family interment will be in G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami, Okla.
