William Ted Springfield, Jr. of Miami, Okla. passed from this life on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at his home. He was 88.
Ted was born May 18, 1930 in Seminole, Okla. to William Ted and Velma Springfield. He lived in the Seminole and Wewoka, Okla. area growing up and he graduated from Seminole High School in 1948. He moved to Miami, Okla. in 1948 and started working at B.F. Goodrich where he worked for 37-1/2 years. He owned and operated Midway Golf in Commerce for 30 years from 1965-1995. Ted opened Springfield Stained Glass in Miami and worked for Cabinets by Springfield.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Tommy, Leroy, Linda, Evelyn and Louise.
Ted is survived by his wife Betty (Fields) Springfield of the home in Miami, two sons, Ronald Ted Springfield an his wife Juliana and David Joe Springfield and his wife Sherrie all of Miami, Okla., three grandchildren, Dustin Springfield, Rocky Springfield and Tori Springfield and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday, October 22, 2018 at Paul Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Miami, Okla. officiated by Rev. Howie Moss. Interment will follow Ottawa Indian Cemetery southeast of Miami, Okla. The family will receive friends Sunday October 21 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Services have been placed in the care of Paul Thomas Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Miami, Okla.
