Registration party slated Aug. 27

Area retirees are invited to OLLI@OSU’s annual registration party for seven new Osher Lifelong Learning classes. The event will be held from 4-5:30 p.m. Aug. 27 at the Haskell Event Space in downtown Bartlesville, 115 SE Frank Phillips.

Registration is already open online at http://education.okstate.edu/olli, so people don’t have to wait for the registration party to get full information and sign up for the fall classes that will start Sept. 18. Whether wanting to enroll or already enrolled, curious about what OLLI classes are, or want to hear what the leaders offer before making choices, everyone is invited to attend the meet and greet registration party that is open to the public.

Instructors for the fall OLLI classes will be on hand to describe their courses. The seven new OLLI@OSU offerings for the 6-week fall semester will feature subjects dealing with nutrition, local historical characters, reviving civility, mental aerobics, writing a short memoir, the life and legacy of Oklahoman Ralph Ellison, and a film noir series that will include such films as “The Maltese Falcon,” “Double Indemnity” and “Laura.”

Refreshments will be served, and a door prize drawing will be held for an annual OLLI membership. Call the OLLI@OSU office at 1-800-765-8933 for any questions.
