WELCH — The Bears got 14 points from Ryan Cooper as Wyandotte scored a 54-33 win over the Quapaw Wildcats in Blue Division Pool A action of the annual Kenneth Sooter Invitational basketball tournament.


Cooper and Jordan Burney popped in five markers each as Wyandotte opened the game with a 12-8 run. Cooper added four more in the second to help give the Bears a 26-16 margin at halftime.


In the second half, Wyandotte outscored the Wildcats, 28-17.


Carson Loncarich and Brandon Brown scored 10 points each, while Burney and Trey Jones each added eight.


Tyler Hemphill scored 13 for the Wildcats.


With the win, the Bears upped their tournament mark to 2-0, while Quapaw dropped to 1-1.


Quapaw will play at 7 p.m. Friday for fifth place in the Blue Division. No opponent has not been determined as of press time Thursday.


Wyandotte will play 8:30 p.m. Saturday for first in the Blue Division against Welch or Commerce.


South Coffeyville 43, Copan 39


Cameron McBeath tossed in a team-high 14 points and Chris Yeubanks chipped in 13 in the Lions win over the Hornets in White Division Pool A play Wednesday.


Copan broke a 7-7 tied with 13 second-period points for a slim 20-18 lead at halftime.


The Lions exploded for 19 points in the third with Yeubanks and Colton Cantrell hitting four each.


Zac Gray added eight for the Lions.


Copan’s Kirk Foreman led all scorers with 16 and Dylan Williams hit 15.


South Coffeyville improved to 1-1 in the pool standing, while Copan dropped to 0-2.


Copan will play the Fairland JV at 5:30 Saturday for fifth place in the Blue Division.
