VINITA – Bentonville, Arkansas, earned a spot in the championship game of the Big Dawg Classic with a 65-18 victory over Miami here Friday.


The Lady Wardogs (0-3) faced Locust Grove Saturday afternoon in the fifth-place game.


Bentonville faced Tulsa Holland Hall in the championship game. Holland Hall had bumped off Miami in Thursday's tournament opener.


Miami remains on the road Tuesday night, facing Tulsa Rogers.


Holland Hall 73, Miami 45


The Dutch set the tone for the game by exploding for 30 points in the first quarter.


Holland Hall carried a 50-23 lead into the half then outscored the Lady Wardogs 19-11 in the third frame.


Miami held an 11-4 advantage over the final eight minutes.


Taylor Stepp poured in 20 points for the Lady Wardogs, who also got seven from Abby Osborn, four each from Abby Ishmael, Tara Linton, Vanna Crosby and Tori Lofgren and two from Jordan Quapaw.


Stepp also had five rebounds, three on the offensive end, one assist and one steal. Osborn contributed one offensive and four defensive rebounds with an assist and a steal.


Gabby Gregory had 30 points to lead three Holland Hall players in double figures. Kennedy Cox had 11 and Regan Beyers scored 10 for the Dutch.


Bentonville 63, Miami 18


The Lady Wardogs were limited to single points in all four quarters.


Bentonville stretched a 15-8 first-quarter lead into a 36-12 halftime margin.


The Arkansans then held 15-4 and 12-2 advantages in the second half.


Stepp had eight points while Vanna Crosby chipped in with six. Jewel Cunningham and Osborn each had two points.


Linton grabbed a team-high six rebounds, all defensive.


Madison Brittain and Krista Clark scored 23 and 11, respectively, for the Lady Tigers.
