MIAMI – Christian Folks and Jerry Reed of Miami were among the outstanding player award winners in District 4A-3.
Folks was named the outstanding running back while Reed was named the outstanding lineman.
Reed, who missed last season with a knee injury, was one of the key players on the Wardog offensive line that helped Folks become the modern era all-time leading rusher for MHS.
Folks rushed for 1,205 yards this past season and wound up with 3,127 yards over his four-year career.
Two other members of the offensive line – Alec Hayward and Austin Journagen – were named to the all-district team along with linebacker Irvin Myers and wide receiver Ryan Perry.
Wagoner, which won the Class 4A state title for a second straight year, had A.J. Freeth named the district's offensive MVP.
Tulsa McLain quarterback Joshua Jacobs was named the district's most valuable player. He had 313 yards and five touchdowns when the Titans beat Miami 47-28 in October.
Jimmy McKinney of Oologah was honored as the defensive MVP.
In addition to Folks and Reed, others named outstanding position players were James Rouse, Tulsa Cascia Hall, quarterback; Breyden Despain, Oologah, wide receiver; Dayton Bowlin, Vinita, and Traivon Bryant, Cleveland, athlete; Jacob Roth, Catoosa, tight end; Jelani Lewis, McLain, linebacker; Stefen Frost, Vinita, defensive lineman; Logan Armstrong, Oologah, defensive back, and Tyler Wedding, Cascia Hall, special teams.
