Marcus Allen Bunce, age 26 was pronounced dead Tuesday evening, Dec. 1, 2015 at Freeman West Hospital Joplin Missouri from injuries received in a car/pedestrian accident in Riverton.
Marcus was born Sept. 28, 1989 in Miami, Okla. His parents were Ernie and Buffy (Rickey) Bunce. He was a lifetime area resident.
He graduated from Baxter Springs High School with the Class of 2008. He then earned a Bachelor of Nursing degree from Oklahoma University while studying at NEO College, Miami, Okla. He was employed at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, Mo. working in the Emergency Dept. and ICU.
He was a member of Crossroads Christian Church, Baxter Springs, Kan. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing, skeet shooting and traveling. He was a good cook and loved the time he spent with the friends and family.
Surviving is his fiancé, Paige Mishler, Riverton, Kan.; parents, Ernie and Buffy Bounce, Quapaw, Okla.; brother, Rusty Bunce, Stillwater, Okla., sister, Elicia Bunce, Quapaw, Okla.; grandmother, Carol Ann Rickey, Grove, Okla.; uncle, Joe Rickey, Grove, Okla.; and aunts, Kelly Horn (husband, Charlrick), Baxter Springs, and Shelly Grimes (husband Jimmy) Baxter Springs; and cousins, Ashleigh Grimes, Aleigh Grimes, Hailey Horn, Hannah Horn, and Alanna Rickey.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Russell Bunce, Young Bunce, and Joe Rickey.
A service celebrating his life will be held at 6 p.m., Friday, Dec. 4, 2015 at Crossroads Christian Church Baxter Springs, Kan. Tracy Rowe will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service from 7-9 p.m. at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, Kan.
