Dale Glen Peterson, south of Miami, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010, at his home. He was 74.
Mr. Peterson was born Aug. 21, 1935, in Highmore, S.D., to Stanley and Myrtle (Dalton) Peterson. He lived in Miami since 1974, moving from Highmore.
He was a Korean War veteran of the Army, serving in Japan.
He worked as a rancher in the Highmore area and continued working with cattle after moving to a ranch in Miami.
He married Grace Schuette in June 1960.
Survivors include one son, Dennis Peterson of Chelsea; three daughters, Sandra Peterson of Stillwater, Lynnette Peterson Johnson and husband Lawrence of Miami and Patty Peterson of Jenks; two sisters, Betty Sutton of Rapid City, S.D., and Frances Maxwell from Arkadelphia, Ark.; one brother, Lloyd Dean Peterson from Highmore; nine grandchildren, Meghan, Tyler, Matthew and Dylan Johnson, Anthony Grecco, and Jessica, Lindsey, Samantha and Kenlee Peterson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother who died at birth.
A “celebration of life” reception will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Paul Thomas Funeral Home’s family center at 1527 North Main in Miami.
