James Levy Black of Jay died Friday, Aug. 24, 2007. He was 49.

Mr. Black was born Nov. 17, 1957, in Tahlequah to Claude Edward and Patrecia Jean (Sixkiller) Black. He was a longtime Jay resident.

He was a veteran of the Army Green Berets where he served as a staff sergeant.

He was a construction worker.

He married Tanna Lee Lawson on March 21, 1997, in Jay. She survives, of the home.

Additional survivors include four children, Savana Belle Black, Jamie Lynn Black and Jake Anthony Black, all of the home, and Raven Matlock of Jay; his mother, of Jay, and four sisters, Merilynn Richards, Annie Black, Regina Goins and husband Terry, and Sallie Hutchison and husband Joe, all of Jay.

He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Woodrow Connely Black.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at First Assembly of God Church in Jay with the Rev. Chester Crittenden officiating. Burial will be in Duffield Cemetery in Jay at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Turner Funeral Chapel in Jay.
