A contractor for Blitz USA was electrocuted Wednesday around noon, according to a spokesperson for the local manufacturing facility.
The injured person's identity and condition have not been released.
Blitz USA public information officer Larry Frisco confirmed the incident, but details of how the accident occurred have not been disclosed.
The injured man was an employee of Premier Communications out of Oklahoma City.
“We are still investigating the incident and don't want to make any comments until the investigation is completed,” said Premier Communications public relations official Jimmy Cordell. “Considering the severity of the injuries, we also don't want to make any comment on the status of the injured party until we have notified family.”
Frisco said Wednesday that the injured person was airlifted to a Springfield burn center.
