Defending champ Webb City, Mo., heads up the field for the Miami Invitational softball tournament that runs Thursday through Saturday at Harley Turner Field.
Webb City topped Carl Junction, Mo. In the championship game. That was the third straight year the pair had played for the title.
Others in the field include Joplin, Mo., Westville, Jay, Wyandotte, the Broken Arrow JV and the host Lady Wardogs.
Six games are on tap for Thursday starting at 10 a.m.: Westville vs. Carl Junction, Mo., 10 a.m.; Wyandotte vs Webb City, Mo., 11:30 a.m.; Joplin, Mo., vs. Westville, 1 p.m.; Wyandotte vs. Jay, 2:30 p.m.; Miami vs. Westville, 4 p.m.; Joplin vs. Miami, 5:30 p.m.
Then on Friday, it’s Broken Arrow JV vs. Wyandotte, 10 a.m.; Broken Arrow JV vs. Jay, 11:30 a.m.; Webb City, Mo. vs. Broken Arrow JV, 1 p.m.; Miami vs. Carl Junction, 2:30 p.m.; Webb City vs. Jay, 4 p.m.
A final pool game will be played Saturday at 11 a.m., pitting Joplin and Carl Junction.
The seventh-place game will be at 12:30 p.m., followed by the fifth-place game at 2 p.m., the third-place game at 3:30 p.m.
The title game is at 5:30 p.m.
