Scoring two goals in the second half, Northeastern A&M's Golden Norsemen defeated Ranger (Texas) College 2-1 Saturday afternoon on the NEO pitch.

"Offensively we were better today," Golden Norse head coach John Parrigon said. "Our defense pushed up, which allowed our offense to be more aggressive and get more attempts at goal. This allowed us two goals and a few close shots on goal."

A match between the NEO Lady Norse and the Lady Rangers was cancelled after Ranger could not field a team because of illness and injuries.

With the victory, the Norsemen are 2-5-2 while the Rangers are 3-4 overall. NEO concludes a three-match homestand Tuesday with a 4 p.m. contest against Northeast Texas of Mount Pleasant. The Lady Norse kick off at 2 p.m.
