Two birdies over his final six holes

helped Kyle Morris grab the lead at the halfway point of the

Buffalo Run Casino Classic.

Morris, of Columbus, Ohio, had a

7-under 65 Friday morning while completing a second round that was

halted by darkness. He was at 5-under through 12 holes (starting on

the back side) when the horn was sounded at 7:11 p.m.

“I played pretty steady,” Morris

said. “I missed one green today.”

He's got a 36-hole total of 14-under

130 and leads by two shots over Ryan Spears of Del City.

The third round started at 12:45

p.m. Friday.

When play resumed Friday, Morris hit

to within 4 feet of the cup on the par-3 4th hole and

birdied to pick up some momentum.

“I had another 4-footer for a birdie

on 5, but ended up missing that one,” Morris said. “I made a

12-footer on 7 then parred 8 and 9.”

Michael Whitehead of Sugarland,

Texas, moved into third at 11-under 133 and 2008 BRCC champ Jeff

Corr, of Longwood, Fla., and Andrew Landry of Groves, Texas, shared

fourth at 10-under 134.

“It was cold this morning and we had

to adjust distances,” Morris said. “It was a little windier, but

the greens were smooth.”

Miamian Jerry Friend just missed the

cut after posting a 71. He finished at 1-under 143 The cut was

2-under par.
