"Christian is a great athlete," WR eighth-grade head coach Jeremy Herd said. "He is the prime example of hard work pays off, and that's what this team has done. Last week we started out slow. So I told the team before the game to go make a statement and show them how hard you work and who the better team is and they did, everyone did."

Catoosa got both of its touchdowns in the final 4:28 of the game.

"Everybody on defense played their responsibility, the offense played sound football and special teams took it up another notch," Herd said. "You can't ask for anything more. I'm very proud of this group. They are building a future for Wardog football."

In the seventh-grade game, Will Rogers (0-2) created a 6-6 tie in the second quarter on a 2-yard touchdown run by Andrew Reavis. A fumble recovery by Daniel Salazar set up the scoring drive.
