Seth Rhodes needed a one-hole playoff to best Calvin Becker and take the Miami Golf & Country Club men's club championship Sunday.

Rhodes and Becker, current and former standout players at Miami High School, each had 36-hole totals of 142.

Rhodes had a par on the 19th hole of the day while Becker had a bogey on the par 4, 441-yard No. 18 hole.

Rhodes had a 67 Saturday then finished with a 75 on Sunday.

Becker forced the playoff when he had a 71 on Sunday to go with an opening-round 71.

Winners of the other flights were James Heyburn in A; Terry Heatherly in senior men and Geri Heatherly in women.

Heyburn won the A flight by one stroke over Dick Lillard.

Heyburn was up by two strokes over Lillard following Saturday's round. Then during the final round, Lillard held the upper hand, 74-75.

Terry Heatherly posted rounds of 83 and 84 for a 167 to take honors in the senior men's flight. Phil Trussler was runner-up with a 81-87-168.

The women's flight was won by Geri Heatherly, who had an 89-94-183. Mary Ellen Rapp was second at 97-93-193.

Ladies Sunset League

The team of Dr. Tammie Koehler and Ellen Craig too first place in last week's play, which was a Scottish twosome format.

This week's play will be for low putts. Youvett Wyrick and Ellen Craig will be the hostesses.

Those wishing to play should call the pro shop by 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.
