Registration for the Miami Youth Football League is scheduled at 6 p.m. today at the Little League baseball complex.
Future signup periods will occur July 9, 10, 12 and 13 at the Miami Civic Center.
Players from kindergarten to the sixth grade are invited to participate in league games, according to coordinator Zach Turner.
Participation fee for players in the tackle league, that includes third through the sixth grade, is $125.
Teams in the tackle league will compete in the Indian Nation Football Conference which is comprised of several different teams around Oklahoma.
“It will be a great learning experience for the kids and it will better than just a youth football program in Miami,” said league coordinator Zach Turner. “Each team will have five home games and five away games and, at the end of the season, each team will be in a playoff system.”
Cost for the flag football league, for players in kindergarten through second grade, is $35.
“The flag football league will play during the week,” Turner said. “Included in the registration fee is a jersey for each player.”
For the parents with multiple children playing in the tackle league, the cost is $125 for the first child and $50 for each child after that.
If parents have one child in each league, the cost remains $125 for tackle and $35 for flag.

In an attempt to help defray the cost of providing equipment, a $100 raffle will be held during the first home football game.
“We hope that by having the kids sell raffle tickets, we can reduce the entry fee,” league coordinator Zach Turner said. “At signups we'll have zip lock bags containing 50 tickets each. We encourage parents to take up to three bags to off-set their entry fee.”
“Not only will sale of tickets help cut the entry fee cost, but at the end of the season members of the tackle league will get to keep their jerseys which is a $50 investment.”
The raffle ticket money will be due July 30 which is the first day of practice.
