Since they're going into the tournament as the No. 8 seed, the Commerce Lady Tigers should wind up playing Ringling in the first round of the Class 2A state softball tournament.

Times and additional details were to be released this afternoon by the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association.

The tournament begins Thursday at the Amateur Softball Association of America Hall of Fame stadium complex in Oklahoma City.

The Lady Tigers, who were 15th in the final regular-season coaches' poll, clipped Wyandotte 5-4 Friday afternoon to nail down their berth.

Top-ranked Ringling, a semifinalist last year, beat Luther 5-1 to earn its berth.

Other state qualifiers include No. 2 Healdton, No. 3 Colbert, No. 4 Rush Springs, No. 5 Mangum, No. 6 Latta and No. 11 Stroud.
