QUAPAW — A 26-10 advantage in the middle two quarters helped the Oklahoma Union boys notch a 49-28 victory over Quapaw in a non-conference basketball game here Tuesday night.

“They are very, very athletic,” said Quapaw coach Aaron Bland. “They are the most athletic team we’ve played. They are just so physical.”

Oklahoma Union led only 12-11 after the first quarter but bumped its lead to 26-17 by intermission.

The Cougars held a 12-4 edge in the third period then closed things out with an 11-7 margin over the final eight minutes.

Chaney Williams scored 16 points and Ethan Hill had 12 for OU.

Austin Blackmon, Connell Cawyer and Dusty Redden scored five points apiece for the Wildcats (2-8).

Oklahoma Union coasted to a 40-24 victory against Quapaw in the girls’ game.

Quapaw travels to Bluejacket on Friday for Lucky 7 Conference play.
