VINITA — Miami’s Trent Turner and Haiden Rowland qualified for the Class 4A state track meet during northeast regional competition here.

Turner was third in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles Saturday, posting a time of 41.77 seconds.

Rowland finished third in the high jump by clearing 5-2.

The 4A state meet will be Friday and Saturday at the East Tulsa Sports Complex on the campus of East Central High School.

The Wardogs were 13th in the 15-team field with 14 points.

Vinita swept both team titles, the boys rolling up 133 points while the Lady Hornets had 152.

Grove was the boys’ runner-up with 92 points.

Okmulgee claimed second in the girls’ competition with 85 points.

Turner was fifth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.38 seconds and seventh in the 200 at 24.03. His time of 23.39 was third in the 200-meter prelims and Turner was fourth in the 100 prelims at 11.08.

Turner joined Ivan Wong, Colby Anderson and Blaine Lyons in the 4x400 relay. They were eighth with a time of 3:50.32.

Lyons was fourth and Anderson fifth in the 300 hurdles with times of 42.02 and 42.10 seconds, respectively.

Sarah Rhodes was fifth in the 3,200 with a time of 13:22.78.

Kelsey Vincent placed sixth in the discus with a throw of 87-4 and ninth in the shot put at 29-8 1/2.

Charlsee Eberly was seventh in the high jump and long jump. She went 4-8 in the high jump and 14-3 1/2 in the long jump.
