QUAPAW - Scoring runs in five of six innings, Quapaw rolled to a 9-3 victory over Foyil in fast-pitch softball action here Tuesday.

The win helped Quapaw get back on track after suffering its first loss of the season Monday at Commerce.

"We played small ball today," Quapaw coach Russ Heffley said. "The situation allowed it."

The Lady Wildcats (14-1) collected 14 hits in the game.

Winning pitcher Sierra Burkybile helped herself with a double and two singles.

Alex Hart also collected a double and two singles.

Lindsay Olsen had a double and single while Sarah Reeves and Bridget Kibel chipped in with two singles each.

Josie Kerley had a double and Kayera Smith and Bri Ball added a single each.

Foyil finished with six hits against Burkybile and Smith.

Burkybile threw the first five innings, then turned things over to Smith.

Quapaw faces Seneca, Mo., at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in the first round of the Lady Tiger Classic at Commerce.

The Lady Wildcats then will play at 1 p.m. if they lose and at 2:30 p.m. if they win.
