Rain wiped out the Miami True Value Home Center Wood Bat Classic.
About a half inch of rain Thursday night, then another 1.63 inches Friday night and Saturday morning led officials to pull the plug on the American Legion baseball tournament.
“We had way too much rain,” Miami coach Chad Ross said.
All four games were completed without a hitch on Thursday. Vinita swept Grove and Baxter Springs, Kan., by 7-2 and 10-0 scores, Adair dropped Grove 5-2 and Baxter beat Adair 12-4.
Just two of Friday's four games were squeezed in: Poteau routed Springfield, Mo., 9-1, then Miami Post 147 nipped Springfield 2-1.
A torrential downpour hit just as the final out of the Miami-Springfield clash was registered.
The two early games - Miami vs. Ozark, Mo., and Ozark vs. Poteau - were postponed.
Officials had planned on squeezing them in on Saturday, but that was before rain wiped out the whole tournament.
Miami (2-0) plays at Joplin, Mo., Monday night then hosts Grove on Tuesday.
