LOCUST GROVE — The Will Rogers Middle School sixth-grade girls wrapped up their first season with a 34-6 loss to Locust Grove here Monday night.
“This group of girls always play hard,” WR coach Debbie Hogan said. “We hustled the entire game and improved on blocking out a much taller team. I am very proud of the effort from all of the girls this first sixth grade season.”
Olivia Fairbanks, Nicole Mangold and Emily Acuna had two points each for the Lady Wardogs.
“We played against teams who had been in several tournaments and played games consistently once or twice a week,” Hogan said. “We only had four games total this first year — so we were playing against teams with much more game-time experience. It has been a privilege to coach these girls and to be involved with starting a sixth-grade program.”
