Three players scored two goals each to lead the Northeastern A&M Lady Norse soccer squad to an 11-0 shutout Wednesday afternoon over Ozark Christian College on the NEO Pitch.

With the victory, coach Lisa Bell's Lady Norse are 4-8-1 on the season while the Ambassadors are 6-8-2 on the year.

The Lady Norse continue a three-match homestand on Saturday by hosting the Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa Lady Mavericks at 2 p.m.

“Any time you play a shutout, you've accomplished quite a feat,” Bell said. “Our goalkeepers, Sarah Shoemake in the first half and Megan Bloom in the second, played very solid and guarded very well.

“Considering the fact that we played most of the game on their end of the field, our entire team played well,” Bell said. “We moved the ball well and ran the field and made smart passes.”

During the first half, the Lady Norse received two goals each by Hannah Snyder and Katy Schreiber along with solo goals by Jamie Hinds and Crystal Cavin to build a 6-0 lead at intermission.

Two goals by Felicia Sawyers along with solo goals by Victoria Johnson, Ally Gelso and Brittany Lewis closed out NEO's scoring in the second half.

“If we could play with the intensity and competitiveness that we had in this match, then we could win our remaining four matches,” Bell said.
