Hannah Swan represented Miami in No. 2 singles at the Class 4A state tennis tournament last weekend in Oklahoma City.

Swan qualified by placing third in regional competition at Broken Arrow.

Swan suffered a 6-0 and 6-1 loss to Nicole Sadler of Perry in the first round at the Oklahoma City Tennis Center.

She defeated Bailey Parduhn of Oklahoma Christian School 7-6 (8-6), 6-3 to advance to Saturdayís play and the final 12.

There, she suffered a 6-2, 6-1 loss to Tia Sauer of Weatherford, the tournamentís No. 6 seed.

Swan finished third in the regional tournament, beating Emily Bemies of Tulsa Metro Christian, 6-3, 6-1. That avenged a loss to Bemies in the second round.

Swan opened regional play with a 6-3, 6-2 win against a player from Beggs, then suffered a 6-1, 4-6, 2-6 loss to Bemies.

She remained alive with a 6-0, 6-0 win over a player from Sperry, then topped Chumley of Wagoner 6-1, 6-1.

Swan was leading 4-1 against Chouteau when rain forced a delay until Wednesday.

She finished up with a 6-4, 6-1 victory against Chouteau, then topped Bemies to earn her trip to the state meet.

Shelby Jurgensmeyer represented the Lady Wardogs in No. 1 singles and Jordan Paxson and Katie Osborn played No. 1 doubles in regional competition.
