MORRISON — Afton lost both of its first round games in the weather-delayed Mike Kerr Classic here Friday afternoon.

The Eagles suffered a 89-47 loss to Morrison while the Lady Eagles dropped a 73-43 decision to Garber.

Both Afton teams played in consolation games Saturday afternoon, the boys meeting Morrison while the girls battled Hominy.

Pawnee jumped out to a 25-10 lead in the first quarter and never looked back.

Guard Kyle Klaus had 18 of his game-high 22 points in the first half. Three others were in double figures for the Black Bears, who hit eight 3-point goals.

Brennon Fuser and Brandon Jones scored 16 and 13, respectively, for Afton.

In the girls’ game, Garber outscored the Lady Eagles 46-21 in the middle two frames. Jordyn Blanton had 11 points and Shelbie VanPielt added 10 for Afton.
