STILWELL - William Sanchez scored twice in leading Miami to a 3-0 victory over Stilwell in a non-district soccer match here Tuesday night.
Stilwell coasted to a 5-0 victory in the girls' match.
Joining Sanchez in the scoring column for the Wardogs was senior Caleb Potter.
"The wind was really bad," Miami boys' coach Tim Potter said.
Wind with gusts up to 30 mph plagued both matches.
The Wardogs (1-1) led 1-0 at intermission.
Stilwell was only ahead 1-0 at the half of the girls' game.
"We only got a couple shots off," Lady Wardog coach Kurt Witten said. "We played well in the first half, but we also had the wind."
The lone goal of the first half came on a putback about 30 minutes into the match.
"In the second half, they scored two quick ones and we were into the wind, so we really struggled to move it forward," Witten said. "We really struggled being first to the ball and didn't do a good job of stepping up and clearing it out of their offensive end."
The Lady Wardogs slipped to 0-2 with the loss.
Miami opens the home portion of the schedule Friday by hosting Tulsa Victory Christian.
