FAIRLAND - Generating 313 yards in total offense, Fairland coasted to a 41-18 victory over Hulbert here Friday night.
The win was the second of the season for the Owls, who improved to 2-3 overall and 2-2 in District A-8 play.
Fairland jumped out to a 21-0 lead on a 22-yard touchdown pass from Yancy Lett to J.C. Morrow, a 21-yard strike from Lett to Jesse Drosche and a 15-yard run by Lett. Drosche nailed the extra point each time.
Hulbert got on the board in the second quarter on a 13-yard run by Kole Ulrich. A pass for the conversion failed.
The Owls scored twice in the third quarter. Drosche caught a 25-yard pass from Lett, then Tony Short bulled in from the 3. Drosche was successful on both PAT attempts.
Fairland's final touchdown came in the fourth quarter on a 1-yard run by Drosche. He tacked on the extra point.
The Riders got a 23-yard touchdown pass from Dillon Brown to Skyler Heaton in the third quarter, then Ricky Carey bulled in from the 1 to cap the scoring.
The Owls generated 168 yards via the airways as Lett completed 7 of 14 passes, three going for TDs.
Drosche was Fairland's leading receiver with three catches for 65 yards and two scores. Morrow snagged two passes for 58 yards and the other touchdown.
Short was the Owls' leading rusher with 55 yards on 15 carries. Tyler Spencer added 47 yards on six tries.
Carey had 117 yards on 22 carries on the ground as Hulbert netted 261 yards in total offense.
The Owls forced seven turnovers by Hulbert.
Zachary Needham, Kyle Smith, and Morrow each had a fumble recovery. Morrow picked off two passes while Troy Jones and Smith also had an interception.
Smith finished the game with a team-high 15 tackles. Robert Bluejacket collected 11 stops and Morrow had 10.
The Owls travel to Quapaw Friday night.
