COMMERCE - Quarterback Brandon Postoak scored two touchdowns rushing and amassed 143 yards to lead the Green squad to a 42-26 victory Saturday night over the Gold team in the 35th annual Oklahoma Eight-Man Football Coaches Association All-Star game.

Playing before an estimated crowd of more than 1,500 at Commerce High School's Tiger Field, the contest featured participants from 34 Oklahoma high schools. Included in the group were Andrew Marlow of Welch and Matt Steele of Bluejacket.

Postoak of Allen earned offensive most valuable player honors for the Green team after rushing for 143 yards on nine carries with two touchdowns. Postoak also completed 1 of 4 passes for 18 yards and returned a punt 25 yards.

"I really wasn't coming to play in this game," Postoak said. "I had already signed to play baseball at Pratt (Kan.) Community College. But, I'm really glad I changed my mind."

After holding the Gold team out of the endzone on the opening possession of the game, the Green squad methodically marched 72 yards in 12 plays to grab the lead.

A nifty 24-yard touchdown run by Postoak straight up the middle culminated the drive with 6:03 left in the first quarter. The extra point attempt sailed wide right as Green maintained a 6-0 lead.

Under the guidance of quarterback Mark Frieouf of Pond Creek Hunter, the Gold team mounted a drive on their next possession that bogged down at the Green 3-yard line. Frieouf was stopped on a 4th-and-goal call.

The Gold defense stiffened and forced the Green's Kyle Smart to get off a 25-yard punt that set the Gold offense up at Green's 28-yard line.

After a 2-yard loss by Frieouf, the quarterback found wide receiver Devin Hudson of Covington-Douglas open for a 30-yard touchdown pass with just 30 seconds left in the first quarter. The two-point conversion pass by Frieouf failed to create a 6-6 tie.

Postoak electrified the crown on Green's next possession by shredding the Gold defense on an 80-yard touchdown run. The quarterback tacked on the two-point conversion run just 17 seconds into the second quarter for a 14-6 Green cushion.

Mounting a 55-yard drive in eight plays, the Gold team tied the game after a 3-yard touchdown run by fullback Jake Harris of Laverne with 7:05 until halftime. Frieouf added the two-point conversion run for a 14-14 tie.

Consuming more than five minutes of the game clock, the Green team took the lead for good after covering 70 yards in seven plays. Fullback Bryson Braziel of Alex scored on a 3-yard run. Quarterback Brian Wilson of Burns Flat-Dill City ran for the two-point conversion for a 22-14 Green lead with 1:48 before halftime.

A fumble by Gold quarterback Frieouf was recovered by Green defensive tackle Clayton Wilson of Davenport at the Green 34-yard line.

Postoak connected with wide receiver Skyler Parmater of White Oak on an 18-yard TD pass with just 38 seconds before intermission. The conversion run by Postoak was stuffed as Green carried a 28-14 lead to the locker room at half.

A 25-yard punt return by Postoak gave the Green a scoring opportunity at the Gold 30-yard line midway through the third quarter.

Halfback Alek Ryan of Cashion culminated the drive with a 4-yard touchdown run. After the two-point conversion run failed, the Green maintained a 34-14 cushion with 5:16 left in the third quarter.

The Gold team responded by covering 70 yards in eight plays to get on the scoreboard. A 38-yard run by halfback Blake Overton of Sharon-Mutual set up a 3-yard touchdown run by halfback Leon Mouse of Oaks. A failed two-point conversion run by quarterback Frieouf created a 34-20 deficit with 1:24 left in the third quarter.

Green quarterback Brian Wilson guided the team 70 yards in nine plays to start the fourth quarter. Wilson connected with wide receiver Joseph Johnson of Haileyville for a 42-yard touchdown pass with 10:25 remaining in the game. Postoak tacked on the two-point conversion run for a 42-20 lead.

A 41-yard kickoff return by Mouse gave the Gold team the ball at the Green 37-yard line. Jake Harris ended the three-play drive with a 19-yard touchdown run. The conversion run by Wilson failed as the Gold trailed 42-26 with 8:48 left on the clock.
