Northeastern A&M sophomore Wilka Montout was selected Most Valuable Player of both the Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference and the all-Region II teams named Friday by conference coaches.
Montout was one of three Lady Norse players selected to both post-season teams.
Sophomores forward Katy Cooper represents NEO on the third team while shooting guard BriAna Garza earned honorable mention honors.
Montout (6-5 from French Guiana) ranked 15th in the nation and led the OCAC with an 18.3 scoring average through 29 games. She also ranks sixth in the conference with a 7.6 rebounding average while posting 30 blocked shots.
Cooper (6-2 from Stella, Mo.) has a 6.5 scoring average while ranking third in the conference with a 9.1 rebounding average. She leads the Lady Norse with 40 blocked shots.
Garza (5-8 from Austin, Texas) spent last season at William Jewell College and is averaging 8.2 points per game. She has averaged 3.1 rebounds per game with 61 assists and 33 steals.
Third-place Seminole State College led the league with five players placed on both teams.
