Miami wraps up the American Legion baseball regular season at home tonight when it hosts Grove at Joe Pollock Field.

Post 147 suffered a 4-2 loss to Vinita Tuesday night.

“We cannot finish games,” Miami coach Kerry Hallman said. “We lost the lead in the sixth inning. If we were only playing five innings, we would be OK.”

Post 147 had carried a 2-0 lead into the sixth inning.

Spencer Neal was sharp in his first pitching appearance since early in March.

He left the game with two out in the sixth inning after throwing only 74 pitches.

“We had a chance at a double play to get out of the inning,” Hallman said. “A run scored on that, then they got a single that gave them the lead.”
