Once again, Evan Brockway is the Class 2A state high jump champion.

The Quapaw senior made it two straight Friday when he cleared 6-4 in competition at Moore.

Brockway headed up one of the best showings in recent memory for Ottawa County athletes in state track competition.

4 Afton's Shawn Free won the shot put with a throw of 48-3.

4 Fairland's Justin Thompson won the discus with a throw of 155-2.

4 Commerce won the boys' 4x100-meter relay in 45.72 seconds.

Corey Beaver of Fairland was second in the shot put with a throw of 47-3.

Beaver also tied for fourth in the discus with Tyler Boyd of Turpin. Both had throws of 133-0.

Quapaw's Chase Price was fourth in the high jump and long jump. He and Jared Ward of Foyil cleared 5-10 in the high jump and he went 20-11 in the long jump.

Josh Botts of Commerce was fourth in the 100-meter dash and fifth in the 200. His time in the 100 was 11.23 seconds and 23.66 in the 200.

Long was fourth in the 300-meter hurdles. He was timed in 42.55 seconds.

The Tigers' Jared Dobb placed sixth in the shot with a throw of 44-0.

Caitlyn Burnside of Fairland was fifth and Afton's Macy Gibson was sixth in the girls' high jump. Both went out at 4-10, but Burnside had fewer misses.

The Commerce 4x100-meter relay team was sixth at 53.49 seconds.
