WYANDOTTE - The South looks for its fourth straight win against the North during the 39th annual Wyandotte Lions Club North-South Football Game here Monday night.
A 26-12 win in last year's game helped the South narrow its gap against the North to 18-17.
South MVP Austin Martin of Colcord led the way, rushing for 75 yards and two touchdowns while completing five passes for 73 yards.
The North had run off nine straight wins before the South turned the tempo. A field goal as time expired gave the South a 16-14 win in 2004. The South rolled 26-7 in ‘05.
The North roster includes a pair of Northeastern A&M signees - Miami's Adam Pryor and Shea Henry of Afton.
Also on the North roster are Chris Heatherly of Miami, Corey Snowden, Anthony Inman, Trent Craghead, Nathan Webb, Jared Dopp and Daniel Walker of Commerce, Justin Thompson, Corey Beaver and ShawShon Wilkes of Fairland, Josh Heston, Sean Gwartney, Joe DeRose and Doug Gideon of Wyandotte, Chad Braden and Andrew Marlow of Welch, Jesse Gibson, Jesus Placencia, Matt Handy and Greg Giles of Afton, and Ethan Myers, James Smith, Ross Hayes and Steven Montoya of Vinita.
