OOLOGAH - Julio Perez scored with under five minutes remaining to give Miami a 1-0 victory over Claremore Sequoyah in a losers' bracket game at the Oologah Mustang Showcase here Thursday.

The Wardogs suffered a 2-0 loss to Tulsa Metro Christian in the first round.

"We just didn't play very well," Miami coach Tim Potter said. "We had played them earlier in a scrimmage and led them 2-0 after the first 15 minutes."

Miami's girls suffered a 1-0 loss to 4A No. 2 Glenpool, then dropped a 6-0 decision against 6A No. 6 Skiatook.

The Lady Wardogs face either Commerce or Grove at 9 a.m. in the girls' seventh-place game.

MHS' boys meet Grove at 11:30 a.m. in a fifth-place game.
