After a well-played first game, Northeastern A&M’s Lady Norse volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision in the season opener Monday night against the Coffeyville (Kan.) Community College Lady Ravens in the Student Activity Center.

"We played pretty well in the first game, but we couldn’t finish the match," Lady Norse head coach Eric Iverson said. "Coffeyville had already played five matches and it showed in their constant, aggressive serves.

"Even though we didn’t have any ball control in the last three games, we’re a talented team," Iverson said. "We’ll figure it out as we go along."

The Lady Norse opened the best three-out-of-five match with a 25-22 win in the first game.

Coffeyville responded by winning 25-16, 25-14 and 25-22 to capture the match. The Lady Ravens are 4-1 on the season.

NEO travels to Lees-Summit, Mo., next Wednesday for a 6 p.m. match with the Metropolitan Community College-Longview Lady Lakers. MCC-Longview is 1-2-1 on the season.
