POTEAU — Freshman guard Ashton Pittman scored 23 total points to lead the Northeastern A&M Lady Norse to a 79-54 rout Monday night in the Mick Thompson Fitness Center over Carl Albert State College.

Winning five of the six games on their month-long road trip, coach Jim Rowland’s Lady Norse are 9-6 on the season and 3-2 in the Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Confer-ence. Coach Jeff Tadtman’s Lady Vikings are winless in the OCAC and 4-10 on the year.

The Lady Norse return to the NEO Fieldhouse on Thursday for a 6 p.m. conference confrontation with the Murray State College Lady Aggies.

Pittman (5-8 of Washington, Okla.) canned 7 of 12 3-point field goals to rank fifth in Lady Norse school history for most 3-pointers in a game. The NEO school single-game record is 10 treys by Brittni Allen against Garden City, Kan., on Nov. 16, 2006.

Eleven members of the Lady Norse contributed points.

Pittman was the only Lady Norse to score in double figures as NEO constructed a 43-21 lead at halftime.

Tiffy Thorton led the Lady Vikings with 17 points while Dez Rogers added 11  and Celeste Key scored 10.

The Lady Norse connected on 14 3-point field goals compared to only two treys by the Lady Vikings.

Kayla Gardner grabbed five rebounds as the Lady Norse held a 32-27 advantage on the boards. Key pulled down 11 rebounds to lead Carl Albert.
