Anthony Lawson headed home a deflection off the keeper with 7:30 to play as the Fusion topped the Bartlesville Revolution Saturday at the Sam Wells Soccer Complex.

Josh Williams had the initial shot from the left wing, then Lawson converted.

In other matches Saturday, it was:

U-12 Rec-Plus: Miami Revolution 10, Claremore 0

U-12 Boys: Team Spain shut out Team Miami

U-14 Rec-Plus: Red Dogs 1, Muskogee 1

"We had been pressuring their goal the whole game, but just couldn't connect," Fusion coach Ben Wells said.

Williams and Crue Woolman teamed in goal for the shutout. Williams had two saves in the first half against a southerly breeze.

Woolman statched up the ball three times in the second half, one off the feet of a Bartlesville attacker.

"They played well against a visiting team who, like us, never gave up on the play," Wells said. "Today, the sheer determination made the difference"

Members of the Fusion include Williams and Woolman, goalies; Trenton Barr, Anthony Wynn and Dakota Foster, fullbacks; Gerardo Zavala, Cody Beehler, Davan Brown, Donnie Brown, Isaac Blazer, Marvin Ajanel, Elijah Tippit, Jordan Carrillo and Stefan Blankenship, midfielders, and Keishawn Plumb, Lawson and Jose Covarrubias, forwards.

The Fusion hosts Claremore NEOFC Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at the Sam Wells Soccer Complex followed the Red Dogs vs. Tulsa United Soccer Club Crossfire, who tangle at 1:30 p.m.
