AFTON - Scoring runs in every inning, Afton coasted to a 13-6 baseball victory over Fairland here Monday.
Seven of the game's 19 runs came in the first two innings. The Eagles used a third-run third to take the lead for good.
They were up 7-4 after four then erupted for four more runs in the fifth.
Each team scored two runs in the sixth to create the final margin.
Winning pitcher Dusty Henry helped himself offensively by going 3-for-4 at the plate. He had a second-inning single, a two-run triple in the third and a two-run homer in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Eric Wilmoth and Jordan Corley also had three hits, all singles, while driving in two runs each.
Trevor Maupin had a double and single and Brennon Fuser added two singles.
Blake Wisdom doubled while Cecil Jones, Zach Dotson and Teddy Jones all added singles for Afton.
The Owls amassed 16 hits in the game.
Three players had three hits each for Fairland: Kolton Selsor had two doubles and a single while K.C. Jones and Kyle Crockett had three singles each.
Jerod Johnson had a double and single and Derek Goins and Cody Drosche had two singles each.
Destrey Riley chipped in with a single.
Afton hosts Miami and Fairland travels to Vinita for non-conference games on Tuesday.
