The entry list for the Buffalo Run Casino Classic was at 111 as of Wednesday, according to Ryan Waters, regional tournament director of the NGA Hooters Tour.

Defending champion Ted Potter was vague when asked where he would be in two weeks — here for the BRCC or in the Nationwide Tour’s Fort Smith (Ark.) Classic.

“Yes, I’ll be at one of the two events,” Potter said in a Friday text message when asked if he was going to play at Miami or Fort Smith in two weeks.

Potter, the tour’s player of the year in 2009, is 25th in earnings with $19,896.

He’s got a conditional Nationwide Tour exemption after finishing in a tie for 104th at the 2009 PGA Tour qualifying tournament.

Potter has played five Hooters events and two on the Nationwide Tour thus far.

He finished in a tie for 20th at last month’s BMW Charity Pro-Am, pocketing $6,744. That is good for 125th in the Nationwide money standings.

Even if he does play here, he could wind up on the Nationwide Tour full time after a reshuffle following the season’s 12th tournament — Fort Smith.

At least 10 player will be pulled into the field here via the Monday qualifier, and Chief John Froman of the Peoria Tribes of Indians of Oklahoma has five exemptions as sponsors of the event.

Froman has confirmed Boyd Downey, Jerry Friend and Justin Beck and is trying to line up two others.

He had extended an invitation to Cody Freeman, who has played in the tournament in the past, but Freeman had to decline.

Additionally, the course is extended an invitation to be represented in the field, but that spot has not been filled.

The exemptions are only into the field; the players are still responsible for paying the associated fees to the tour, tournament coordinator Annette Black.

“This would be an opportunity for anyone who’s ever dreamed of playing in a pro golf tournament to have that chance,” Waters said.

The entry fee is $1,350 for a non-member pro, but Waters said all PGA members are being offered the tour member rate of $1,150.

The amateur entry fee is $750.

Players can register by calling the NGA Hooters Tour office at (800) 992-8748.

Among the players on the tentative entry list are 2008 BRCC winner Jeff Corr and five of the top 10 money winners this season — No. 1 Mark Blakefield, No. 2 Will Wilcox, No. 4 Matthew Harmon, No. 7 Travis Bertoni and No. 10 Patrick Nagle.

Blakefield is the season’s only double winner, taking first at the Ocala Marion Sports Commission Classic and the 2010 ADI Classic.

Harmon won the 2010 Crystal Lake Open and a week later, Wilcox won the $250,000 Savannah Lakes Village Classic.

Bertoni got his first Hooters Tour victory at the Georgia Sports Orthopedic Specialists Classic.

Oklahomans who will be in the field include Ryan Brooks of Tulsa, Ryan Henry of Broken Arrow, Bruno Buccolo and Stafford Gray of Oklahoma City and Rhein Gibson and Robert Streb of Edmond.

Gibson led last year’s tournament through the first two rounds after posting scores of 66 and 65. He wound up in a tie for sixth.

Henry, who tied for 40th last year, equalled the course record at Peoria Ridge in 2008 with an 11-under par 61 during the second round.

However, the score didn’t go into the record books since the course was playing shorter due to heavy rain the day before.

The tour will be at Rogers, Ark., this week for the Bentonville Open presented by Lindsey Management Company.

David Miller is the defending champion.
