GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Two freshmen on the Northeastern A&M Lady Norse softball team were recently selected to the National Junior College Athletic Association all-American teams.

Pitcher Kalleigh Chrz earned second team recognition while center fielder Kiarra Bonner received third team honors.

Chrz, a freshman right-hander from Welch, ranked 18th in the nation with a 23-2 overall record and a 0.90 earned run average in 169 innings.

She led NEO with 120 strikeouts while issuing 75 walks.

Bonner, a freshman lead off hitter from West Peach, Texas, lead the Lady Norse with a .463 batting average in 201 at-bats.

She set an NEO single season school record with 23 home runs. The previous mark was 15 set by Shareena Pulse in 2007.

Bonner also set an NEO school record with 73 runs batted in during a single season, which eclipsed the previous record of 71 set by Shelbie Dalton in 1990.

Bonner led NEO with nine triples, 29 stolen bases and a school record 79 runs scored.
