Rainfall totaling almost 2 inches on Monday turned much of the Peoria Ridge Golf Course into a swamp.

As a result, both events that had been scheduled for Monday in connection with the NGA Hooters Pro Golf Tour Buffalo Run Casino Classic were washed out.

The Arvest Bank Horse Race was rescheduled for 3 p.m. today while a scramble benefiting The Harbor was cancelled.

Monday’s rainfall total at the Stepp’s Ford bridge was 1.70 inches.

Players began arriving Monday from northwest Arkansas, where the Bentonville Classic wrapped up Sunday.

A number of NGA Hooters Tour members — including defending BRCC champ Ted Potter and Bentonville Classic winner Michael Lavery — went to Fort Smith to vie for 14 slots in the Nationwide Tour’s Fort Smith Classic, which also is this weekend.

Practice rounds for the Buffalo Run Casino Classic were scheduled for today.

In addition to the rescheduled horse race, the Welch State Bank Junior Clinic is slated for 5 p.m.

The pro-am pairings party is at 7 p.m.

Also tonight, Peoria Chief John Froman will host his annual poker tournament for Hooters Tour players.

Registration for the morning pro-am begins at 7 p.m. and players in the afternoon pro-am can begin checking in at 12:30 p.m.

Tournament play begins Thursday from the No. 1 and No. 10 tees at 7:30 a.m. Afternoon play starts at 12:30 p.m.
