KANSAS, Okla. - Sending 12 batters to the plate, Kansas, Okla., broke open a close game in the fifth inning and coasted to an 8-4 victory over Wyandotte Tuesday in a non-conference softball game.

Wyandotte had taken a 2-1 lead in the top of the third. Kristen Enyart reached on an error with one out and Jennifer McCloud walked. Kirsten Leppla drove in a run with a double, then Kayla Oleman picked up one RBI with a sacrifice fly.

The Lady Bears picked up another run in the fifth when McCloud was safe on an error and scored on a base hit by Leppla.

Kansas ran off five straight hits at one point during its big rally, including a double and triple. The Lady Comets had six of their 12 hits during the uprising.

Leppla had a double and two singles for the Lady Bears.

Jesse Stone had Wyandotte's only other hit, a single.

Wyandotte plays in the Vinita festival Saturday.
