With a field of 16, four-man teams, the annual Northeastern A&M Golden Norse Football Team Golf Scramble teeded off Friday at the Peoria Ridge Golf Course.

“We had an excellent turnout from both the individuals and the community,” Golden Norse head coach Donnie Bigby said. “Not only did we have a lot of teams, but we were able to get 26 hole sponsors.

“This means that we can cover the cost of having Ellsworth, Iowa coming to our campus for a game this fall,” Bigby said. “We would like to be able to invite a new team every year so that  we will have five home games for our fans.”

The team of Rob Kimbrough, Mike Sexton, Chad Walker and Mark Von-Moss finished with a 16-under-par 56 to capture the overall title.

Winning second with a 58 score were the J. McCoy team followed by the Jeremy Radebaugh team and the J. Hale team, both with a 60 score.

All but one team, the J.V. Haney foursome, finished under par 72. The Haney team shot a 73.
