KELLYVILLE - Commerce split games in the Kellyville Festival here Saturday.

The Lady Tigers dropped a 6-5 decision to Haskell, but bounced back to hammer Preston 8-1.

Haskell got the winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning (which was played under the international tiebreaker rule) on a wild pitch.

Each team had scored a run in the first inning, then Haskell grabbed a 2-1 advantage in the third.

Commerce erupted for four runs in the top of the fifth, the key blow a three-run homer by Mandy Watson.

However, the Lady Haymakers tied the game in the bottom of the fifth with a three-run rally.

Jacey Knight headed up the CHS attack with three singles. She scored twice and drove in a run.

Johna Sharp, Macy North and Adrienne Herrera each had a single. Herrera scored twice and North scored one run for the Lady Tigers.

In the victory over Preston, CHS had to overcome a 1-0 deficit in the first inning with a four-run rally in the top of the second.

The Lady Tigers added a single run in the fourth, erupted for three runs in the fifth and plated a final run in the sixth.

Kourtney Reading had a double and single with two RBIs for Commerce.

Knight had a double, one RBI and a run scored.

Mandy Watson, Courtney Watson, Alysia Leonard, Kamesha Cook and Herrera each had a single for the Lady Tigers.

Courtney Watson scored twice and Mandy Watson, Sharp and Herrera each scored a run.

The Lady Tigers begin play in the Welch tournament Wednesday, facing Ketchum in a 7 p.m. White Division game.

Their other pool game is Thursday at 7 p.m. against Claremore Christian.
