COMMERCE - Wyandotte's Jacob Lux and Ty Essex combined to no-hit Commerce Monday night at Mickey Mantle Field.
Lux struck out 12 and walked none over five innings, then Essex fanned four and walked none in two inning of work as the Bears coasted to a 9-0 victory.
Wyandotte (2-1) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning, then mounted two-run rallies in the second and fifth frames.
The Bears got a final three runs in the sixth.
Lux helped himself at the plate with two doubles and an RBI.
Orrin Ryan also had two doubles and an RBI while Scotty Rotzal and Andrew Douthit added two singles each.
Dalton Cummings had a two-run double and Colton McCloud and Tate Smith chipped in with a single each.
The Tigers had only two baserunners, both in the fifth inning. Braden Smith walked and Jarred Pannell reached on an error, but both were left stranded.
Commerce begins play in the Chelsea Wood Bat Tournament on Wednesday while Wyandotte travels to Oaks on Thursday.
