Chelsea Corntassel was Miami’s only representative on the all-Verdigris Valley Conference basketball teams.
Corntassel, the Lady Wardogs’ starting center, averaged 7.0 points and 5.4 rebounds per game.
Jacob Cheatham was an honorable mention pick on the boys’ all-conference team.
Vinita had both of the conference’s most valuable players, Caitlyn Spurgeon on the girls’ side and Jake Bullard for the boys.
Others named to the girls’ all-conference team were Morgan Grammer and Kelli Gibson of Vinita, Kat Johnson of Grove, Kayla Hall of Catoosa, Taylor Loffer of Locust Grove, Arlandria Freeman of Wagoner and Megan Ritter and Laura Whiteley of Jay.
The boys’ all-league team included Robert Shelley and Cale Fine of Locust Grove, Jake Roach, Nathan Herd and Nash Chamberlain of Vinita, Roy Thomas of Wagoner, Jared Sloan of Jay, Kyle Summerfield of Grove and Tony Cabrera of Hilldale.
