OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Oklahoma received the No. 7 overall seed in the NCAA softball tournament after losing the Big 12 championship game to Missouri.
The Sooners learned Sunday they will face North Dakota State in the first round of a regional that also features Tulsa and Arkansas. Tulsa, the Conference USA champion, made the 64-team field for the third time in four years.
Oklahoma State also squeezed into the field after finishing seventh in the Big 12 and will open tournament play against 16th-seeded Florida State, which is hosting a regional in Tallahassee, Fla.
